Position Title: Brand Director, Wines
Position Location: New York, NY (Headquarters)

Position Summary:

Brand lead for Pernod Ricard USA’s still wine portfolio with focus on priority brands Kenwood Vineyards, Campo Viejo, Brancott Estate and Jacob’s Creek. Additional wine brands include Graffigna, Dead Bolt, Sandeman Port and Stoneleigh Latitude. Responsible for establishing the long term strategic direction for wine brands in the US, including range architecture, pricing and distribution strategy, and all aspects of communication and brand activation plans. Responsible for the development and timely delivery of Annual Operating Plans and promotional programs. Establish profit, volume and share of market targets while identifying incremental volume and profit opportunities through new product development and strategic innovation.

Line Management: Responsible for leading, developing and managing a team of three brand managers - 2 SBMs and 1 ABM

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Strategic & Financial Planning: (35% of time)

Overall responsibility for establishing a clear brand vision and strategic roadmap
Establish competitive advantage for our strategic priority brands through compelling brand propositions, and focused execution against identified opportunities.
Develop 3Yr Strategic Plan and annual Brand Plans with growth strategy which is consistent with strategic vision and aspirations.
Identify key long term innovation opportunities and ‘white spaces’ based on market intelligence

Brand Planning: (20% of time)

Responsible for leading the Wines Brand Management team in the development and timely delivery of annual plans.
Responsible for development, execution and measurement of integrated promotions, digital, public relations and event plans.
Work with cross functional disciplines of Trade Marketing, Digital, PR/Events in the development of integrated plans to deliver against brand objectives.

Communication and key stakeholder management: (15% of time)

Build strong relationships with all necessary parties and key stakeholders. This includes:
Ensure brand owners are up to date and informed on local brand strategy, activity and performance, in additional to supply/demand scenarios across our wine brands
Present long and short range plans to executive level for approval
Gain Sales and Distributor engagement to ensure clarity on short and long range objectives and their required actions.
Action KPI monthly reporting, both internally and with brand owners.
Monitor operations & forecast meetings to ensure a smooth supply chain.

P & L / Budgets: (15% of time)

P&L responsibility including monthly, quarterly & annual long range goals
Appropriate management and reporting of annual A&P spends within budget

Field Support: (15% of time)

Support in-market activities including sales blitzes, new product launches and key events (AOP meetings, sales conferences, QBRs etc)

Team Development (Ongoing)

Responsible for coaching, developing and leading the still wine brand team to deliver success with a solution focused mindset for growth; cultivate a strong wine culture amongst the team and within the business
Develop strong inter-personal business relationships with peers, sales team, senior management team

Nature & Scope:

Position typically works with members of the central marketing department, Brand Owning affiliates, Trade Marketing, National Sales team, and field sales managers, as well as agency personnel, and various vendor and provider representatives. Communication can include sensitive information requiring complete confidentiality and discretion in dealings with contacts. Decisions impact the group and organization as a whole.

Qualifications
Requirements:

Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Business Administration with a major in Marketing; Master’s in Business or Marketing a plus. Proficiency in MS-Office.

Experience / Background: Minimum 7 years’ business/marketing experience with 5+ years of brand management experience in the wine industry. 

Working Conditions:

Approximately 20% travel to field locations as well as overseas travel to wineries and production centers.
