Job Summary:
Under the direction of the GMR Account Director and the client, the Field Brand Specialist will serve as an ambassador for trade education, relationship-building, and consumer sampling events for Dobel, a premium tequila brand with a deep respect for craft and connoisseurship.

This is a full-time, salaried position that requires full and open availability, as 50% of obligations will take place during normal business hours, while the other 50% will require evening and weekend work. This position will start in early September 2017,
The ideal Field Brand Specialist is an engaging, charismatic, professional, polished, and articulate candidate with a strong connection to their market, a robust social media presence, and extensive experience in and knowledge of the bartending and mixology community.

GMR General Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Program Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Account Education: Accompany distributors and the client sales team on key account visits to educate, inform and help build relationships with key influencers.
• Gatekeeper Trainings: Build brand advocacy through brand specific trainings for key staff in on and off-premise accounts (bartenders, wait-staff, and retail floor staff).
• Event Activations: Represent the brand at key marketing and promotional events (ex. tequila tastings, charity events, sales meetings, etc.).
• Distributor Sales Force Trainings: Train members of the sales force for key distributor partners of the Dobel brand.
• On and Off-Premise Sampling: Educate sampling staff and trade on the featured brands, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the category, brand, history, production and taste profiles.
• Answer consumer and trade questions while building their base of tequila category knowledge.
• Be a product expert across the portfolio of the Dobel brand portfolio.
• Identify best practices in selling and training sales reps and distributors.
• Work with the brand, sales, and trade marketing to ensure programs have been sold into target accounts and are executing with the highest quality
• Regularly provide tactical and strategic feedback to brand team on best practices, success stories, and opportunities to improve our sales effectiveness.
• Collaborate with brand and marketing to establish sampling events (w/ necessary materials) within identified accounts.
• Impart brand history, production and taste profile knowledge to consumers; introduce brand stories to consumers to heighten the emotional connection to the brand.
• Complete Event Report Forms detailing event results including consumers contacted, staff trained, samples distributed, and overall sales.
• Complete and submit detailed expense reports for work-related activity.
• Create quarterly updates that identify key learnings, competitive and local market insight and future program recommendations.
• Always reflect the brand by remaining polished, well-groomed, and professional in appearance.
• Participate in weekly management and client team calls.
Program Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Motivated self-starter, outgoing and gregarious, engaging, articulate, charismatic, and persuasive.
• Previous industry experience in bartending, mixology, field sales, etc.
• Knowledge of tequilas that can be versioned out for novices and expert.
• Adept at selling and interacting with diverse groups of people.
• Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
• In-depth understating of on and off-premise account universe in activation neighborhoods.
• Connected to and involved in the community of greater assigned market.
• Strong social media presence and following.
• Ability to travel to surrounding areas outside of assigned market on a regular basis.
• Ability to travel for mandatory brand and product training at the client’s distillery in Mexico.

Executional Excellence
• Knowledgeable of all aspects of the program, its processes, and all current and upcoming procedures.
• Ensure that the program is running in accordance with client and program requirements.
• Implement the roll-out of new program initiatives.
• Actively develop, recap, and shares “best practices” with the entire program.
• Take overall ownership of all documents that are produced to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timely delivery.
• Ability to delegate appropriate tasks to direct reports.
• Follow through with team to ensure that deadlines and timelines are met.
• Maintain consistent, clear, and accurate records of program activity for the client and GMR HQ.
• Ensure executed events uphold the highest standards of compliance and safety for staff and the general public.

Computer Skills
• Working knowledge of computers with average to above average skills in Windows, Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and Email.
• Ability to learn new computer programs quickly and efficiently.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Degree in a related field preferred (sales and marketing; hospitality management; culinary)
• Bartender and fine dining background preferred.
• Previous experience in program management, marketing, field sales, or other related fields required.

Language Requirements:
• Written and verbal fluency of the English language and grammar.
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus, but not a requirement.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Additional Requirements:
• 21 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Have reliable transportation to travel to surrounding markets and make in-market visits.
