Position Summary:

• Develop U.S. “Best in Class” strategy for National Chains department (Wine & Champagne portfolio) and driving & implementing advanced pricing and promotional effectiveness modeling and executing the most relevant and ambitious programs in the Off Premise. Manage a team of people including key Chain managers & a Customer Solutions Director to deliver against key objectives while maintaining a strong culture of winning and conviviality. Develop shopper insights and superior category understanding to drive customer engagement and make PR USA a “Best in Class” supplier in the US Wine & Champagne category.

• Be the face of Chains for PRUSA W&C ; Simplify ways of working and communication between Chains division, other Sales Divisions, Marketing, and Finance teams. Develop strong partnerships with our priority National Accounts customers, building solution & shopper driven programs

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Coach & Lead Sales Managers, their teams and their assigned accounts to maximize PR USA brand potential while meeting the needs of key national account customers:

• Development of customized off-premise channel strategies, plans and programs with the full portfolio of brands.
• Plan, measure and evaluate full pricing and promotional model to give PRUSA brands a competitive, value building advantage
• Build and leverage shopper insights to drive customer engagement.
• Converting fact-based Category Management tools to results.
• Assist in Identifying individual account priorities and needs.
• Develop high performing team through training. Create development plans for team members and resource training requirements.

Work with direct reports in calling on key national and regional accounts and develop/ maintain individual top-to-top relationships. Work to permeate key national customer organizations to increase Pernod Ricard USA share of mind.

Implement Strategic Initiatives as part of a National Chains Strategy:

• Develop, communicate and implement national and regional strategic initiatives and brand priorities for key customers through direct reports in close coordination with all the respective sales divisions.
• Develop and execute successful programs through direct reports in each of the assigned key national and regional accounts and markets in close coordination with the Divisional Wine Directors, Sales, and Marketing contacts.
• Develop and communicate a simple and clear Chains strategy to the rest of the organization.

Effectively communicate progress against initiatives:

• Work with all key division sales contacts to foster a team environment.
• Develop a close working relationship with Divisional Wine Directors, key customers, and wholesaler partners.
• Critical functions of this position include building productive, collaborative cross-functional relationships with each division, specifically with regards to strategic planning, promotional effectiveness and program execution.

Manage and deliver results within annual plan budgets:

• Plan and deliver P&L targets.
• Track Budgets to insure that all spending is within corporate policy.
• Work with Direct Reports in creating metrics to evaluate pre-program potential and post-program volume/ share gains for Pernod Ricard USA.

Nature & Scope:

• Internal - Position reports directly to the SVP – Wine & Champagne and works closely with sales personnel across all spirits sales divisions, cross functional key contacts in Marketing and Finance.

• External – Key external contacts include key customers, wholesaler partners and vendor providers.

Working Conditions:

• Preferred work location is performed in a typical field environment or divisional field office. Moderate demands for movement and lifting. Frequent travel to customer sites is required. Will require approximately 50% visits to customer sites.

Requirements:

• Education: Requires a BS / BA degree, additional sales training a plus.
• Experience / Background: A minimum of 12 years of sales experience and 7+ years of proven success managing a sizable sales team that calls on a large number of diverse retailers; ideally, experience managing direct on and off-premise chain account managers or accounts.
• Qualified candidates must have extensive experience in U.S. market including solid customer relationships and internal system within chains.
• A demonstrated record of success in establishing and implementing strategic initiatives and delivering sales goals.
• An entrepreneurial approach to managing their business and experience working in a larger team environment.
A track record for effectively managing budgets and maximizing returns on investment.
