Job Title: Market Brand Manager for Houston, TX

Reports To:  Regional Director, matrix into local market manager and Director of Marketing

Category: Exempt; Full-time


Summary: The Market Brand Manager is responsible for growing targeted accounts within assigned territory for SW spirits brands. The Market Brand Manager will work with the local distributor to train them on SW Spirits brands, identify new opportunities for SW Spirits brands and execute all relevant marketing programs within their territory. The Market Brand Manager will be responsible for identifying new and unique opportunities to grow SW Spirits brands and conducting training's both internally and externally on SW Spirits brands.  


Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned.


Internally Partners With: Local/Regional Sales team, Marketing, Accounting, Production, and Leadership team
Externally Partners With: Distributor leadership and sales teams,

Trade Development – 30% 

·         Develops rapport and personally calls on targeted on-premise & off-premise accounts

·         “Hand Sells” assigned portfolio of brands to targeted gatekeepers (retailers, bar owners/managers, and bartenders)

·         Conducts wait staff training and coordinates brand education seminars in target accounts to create advocacy for SW Spirits brands

·         Secures SW Spirits priority brand visibility, menus, and features in targeted accounts 


Marketing Activation– 30% 

·         Serves as local expert on SW Spirits Brands and initiatives in the market and seeks out events/activations that grow targeted brands

·         Responsible for working in targeted accounts during high volume times

·         Identifies unique ways to leverage marketing programs within targeted accounts

·         Executes with excellence all necessary marketing programs within targeted accounts

·         Analyzes, evaluates and recaps monthly marketing programs for all stakeholders

·         Establishes remedial plans as needed for any marketing/sales programs within targeted accounts that are under-performing

·         Participates in on-going marketing planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required

·         Manages and maintains marketing promotional budgets


Training & Coaching – 20% 

·         Responsible for training the distributor team on assigned brands including how to sell and primary/secondary/tertiary account targets

·         Responsible for working in market with distributor team a minimum of 4 days per month

·         Completes ride-with report and works with distributor Division Manager, SW Regional Director on opportunities and continuous improvement within the market

·         Serves as local SW Spirits expert and leads local training's internally and externally


Public Relations & Events – 20%

·         Leads team to ensure appropriate targeting and coordination of SW Spirits presence at various consumer and trade wine and spirit events

·         Coordinates event execution with model agency team, internal team and distributor team

·         Works with Marketing to identify SW Spirits Public Relations opportunities

·         Plans and coordinates distillery representative market visits

·         Facilitates SW Spirits Distillery visits for market customers and guests as needed

·         Shares best practices across the division and with fellow Market Brand Managers

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Superior verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to put the needs of the overall SW Spirits business above the specific needs of the territory or team • Seeks out opportunities to collaborate with leaders in other channels and territories • Keeps relevant parties informed of activity and seeks similar behavior from the area team • Literate with word processing programs (such as Word), spreadsheet programs (such as Excel), and presentation programs (such as PowerPoint). • Ability to travel 30%-40% of the time Education / Experience: • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years industry sales experience, or equivalent education/experience combination. • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with distributors, accounts, and all internal stakeholders • Demonstrated knowledge of three-tier distribution system.
