Job Description

Position Title: Associate Field Director/Spirits

Location: Chicago, NY, or Los Angeles

Department: Experiential

Reports to: VP, Field Director


Position Summary

The Associate Field Director/Spirits, under general supervision of the VP, Field Director will oversee a field-based activation platform and ensure the achievement of client objectives and agency business goals across a leading spirits portfolio.

The Associate Field Director will have a proven & deep understanding of the essential dynamics, strategies and drivers of experiential programming & field activation.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Motivate and manage a territory-based field team consisting of territory & field market managers overseeing sampling and experiential programming across 30 U.S markets
  • Coach, involve, and inspire professional growth and development of field team
  • Promote constructive team dynamic and efficient communication between field team(s) and HQ-based account-services personnel
  • Shape and drive direction and activity on a given piece of business; recognizes and advances developmental growth opportunities
  • Demonstrate accountability for programming performance and flawless execution
  • Monitor and communicate POV on current marketing and industry issues
  • Use agency resources creatively to support client’s business
  • Recognize, work through and resolve conflict situations (internally and externally)
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships at the client and within the agency
  • Maintain regular travel to ensure programming excellence & integrity
  • Manage detailed labor, operational and programming budgets/revenue


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS BA degree or equivalent work experience required 7-10 yrs. relevant experience within of field marketing management supervising national teams of field representatives Experience overseeing spirits based programming preferred Successful track record of leading teams Solid verbal and written communication skills, with advanced presentation skills Team player and leader who is results-oriented, proactive and demonstrates a strong work ethic High level of maturity and judgment to represent the agency and client in a polished, intelligent manner Strong analytical skills with proven ability to integrate analytics into successful marketing actions Excellent interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to motivate staff and clients High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
