Reports to:  Region Managing Director - East


Scope of Role:

The GM for each cluster of states is responsible for setting strategic partnership with the regional/local distributors for each state ensuring the market, portfolio and people are aligned to deliver the SNS and GP goals.  The GM is fully accountable for the P&L and the people across Brown-Forman, the distributor and agency partners. 


  • Sets strategic direction for the geography, portfolio and cross-functional team of B-F employees, distributor partners and agency employees to align resources to deliver the SNS and OI performance for the cluster of markets.

  • Creates annual and long-term plans that builds our future business and fully accountable for the P&L across all markets, channels and accounts across the cluster of markets. 

  • Identifies areas of risk and opportunity, developing and communicating plans to address each

  • Manages the resource allocation and budget process, collaborates with the region team and marketing groups on the best use of TMF funds

  • Distributor Management Requirements:  Monitors and measures the performance of distributors within the cluster of markets; create organizational focus against the B-F portfolio and support the B-F SEE planning and accountability process; Collaborates with the B-F team on the development of the strategic direction of all programs delivered to the distributor and holds the distributor and our team accountable for results; Negotiates and manages distributor investment and support

Must Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10 or more years commercial leadership experience or equivalent education/experience, preferably in Bev/Al Industry

  • Inclusive leadership capability, able to inspire, motivate and challenge to deliver results through a team

  • Agile learner and leader able to lead in a VUCA environment

  • Champion of people, partnerships and leads with a strong example of our values and behaviors

  • Excellent communicator, able to inspire others and articulate a strong vision and direction

  • Excellent partnership and relationship skills both internally and externally

  • Ability and willingness to travel over 50% of the time, including some weekends
