Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales with a dotted line visibility to the Skrewball Executive Team the Skrewball Market Specialist is a dedicated resource within the Texas/Louisiana region. You will establish, develop, and foster the presence of Skrewball and our brands through activation within high-volume and highly rated on and off premise establishments within your region. The Skrewball Market Specialist will build relationships with customers and distributor representatives throughout their respective region to deliver on assigned company goals and objectives. You are expected to collaborate with your respective sales teams to deliver a clear and consistent message defining the direction and expectations for our brands and implement processes to monitor success.

The ideal candidate in this role will maximize the performance of our brands to increase business opportunities and generate revenue from key and target accounts, complementing the efforts of our sales teams and our distributor sales teams. In this role you are expected to become the preferred resource within these establishments for trainings, tastings, education, and staff development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Call on top accounts targeted by volume, tastemaker, and influencer accounts in your assigned region to promote Skrewball and our brands.
  • Develop sales and product knowledge to effectively educate and taste accounts on products.
  • Understand the processes, tools, techniques, and theory behind selling the company's products.
  • Have an extensive working knowledge of the company's products.
  • Sell in concepts and consult with the customer on strategies that will collectively enhance both businesses.
  • Build relationships and be the primary contact for the ultimate decision maker in assigned accounts.
  • Fully understand the individual business models for all assigned accounts including profit margins, revenue model, desired revenue targets and pour costs.
  • Maximize profitability for all parties involved and understand that all transactions must be profitable.
  • Identify opportunities, develop, and implement programs in accounts to increase wine sales.
  • Create customer business building concepts to increase company share and volume.
  • Coordinate multi-level, multi-department interface in larger properties various activities.
  • Effectively service and merchandise assigned accounts.
  • Communicate issues, opportunities, and market intelligence with appropriate management.
  • Clearly communicate “opportunities to buy” to all relevant customers.
  • Ensure execution of the developed sales strategies, objectives, goals, and targeted revenue generation by partnering with distributors and key retailers in the specified market.
  • Manages key distributor relationships-including but not limited to pricing models, programs, incentives, and the ability to audit billbacks and take corrective action when needed.
  • Assist and participate in trade and consumer events.
  • Comfortably speaks publicly about products, events, or at staff trainings or other promotional events.
  • Follow up on all meetings whether it is checking inventory on allocating items, creating a Skrewball cocktail, gathering point-of-sale or setting dates for staff trainings.
  • Maintain a social media following via Facebook, Twitter & Instagram that adheres to corporate policy.
  • Stay in compliance with legal guidelines and regulations at federal, state, and local ABC regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ of experience in the wine & spirits (or related) industry preferably with a distributor.
  • Knowledge of key consumption occasions, shopper messaging, and methods of activation.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with management, field sales teams, supplier partners and customers throughout the business and industry.
  • Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Experience with syndicated and depletion data.
  • Certified Spirits Specialist (CSS) Certification preferred or ultimately obtained.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position involves working with alcoholic beverages and working in environments where alcoholic beverages are served and consumed.
  • Ability to frequently work nights, early mornings and weekends.
  • Willingness to occasionally work in loud, poorly lit environments and outdoor environments.
  • This position may require frequent travel, including air travel. It is likely that this position will be required to travel more than 50% of the time within their assigned market.
  • Occasional lifting up to 45 lbs., bending, sitting, standing, manual dexterity, reaching, visual acuity.
