The Senior Sales Director will oversee Control States including OR, ID, MT, UT & WY.  Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this candidate will act as a strategic thought partner to Leadership team. Direct full range of sales activities to profitably grow market share.  Responsible to build strong relationships with the state liquor control boards, broker partners and key accounts.  The ideal candidate would be based in Portland, Oregon area.

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team
  • Influence and work alongside senior leadership to develop the commercial strategy, annual budget, and 3-year strategic plan
  • Ensure aligned KPI’s are in place to achieve targets
  • Conduct regular sales reviews with brokers to address market-specific tactics, revise forecasts, and support achievement of sales priorities
  • Evaluate market activity and business intelligence and recommend action plans as needed
  • Manage pricing to ensure brand price strategies are met and margins achieved
  • Participate in the creation of innovative programs to build brand awareness
  • Work alongside Marketing to achieve maximum impact with strategic partnerships
  • Support deployment and tracking of LMF spend and ensure spend fits with key brand strategies
  • Lead monthly volume forecasting with Operations team to maintain adequate inventory 
  • Submit new items for a variety of listing types, one-time buys, etc. 
  • Successfully launch innovation

  • Self-starter with ability to problem solve in a dynamic environment
  • Disciplined and analytical approach to sales and local market brand building
  • Solid understanding of how to turn NABCA data into selling story
  • Proficient computer skills (PPT, Excel, Word)

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant Control State experience within the alcohol beverage industry
